The registration close date will be the final day to register for the State Conference and turn in any student pre-submission items for the competitions.
We need that time before the conference to have the students pre-submitted items judged before the State Conference.

STUDENT PRE-SUMISSION DEADLINE:
Students submit work below. The link in the rule packet is for the National Conference.
March 7, 2024, by 11:59 pm.
STUDENTS NEED THE FOLLOWING INFO TO LOGIN:
1. Individual ID number (found after the advisor has registered the student under the “Student Schedules” tab when registering for the Utah State Conference)
2. Chapter Password (set by the advisor when registering for the Utah State Conference)
3. Make sure your documentation is saved in a single .pdf document. If you have any links, make sure you set the permission for “anyone with the link can view”. If judges can’t open it, it will be disqualified.
4. Students can submit their pre-submittal work until 11:59 pm on March 7th.
General Updates
1. Please Check the “Competition Updates” page on the National Website.
2. Most of the competitions have a Tiered system of judging. Tier 1 sections will be judged first to determine who will go on to the Tier 2 section of judging and so forth.
3. As always make sure your students have the ‘Go/No-Go” items that are listed on all of the rubrics. If those items are missing they will be disqualified.

Utah TSA Competition Updates:
1. For all Structural Engineering and Flight competitions: These competitions will use pre-built entries only. There will be no building on site.
2. Middle School:
- SOME competitions have tiered judging, others do not. For competitions with tiered judging, the participants may or may not be notified about their progress through the preliminary tiers. It depends on the competition. Semifinalists will be notified, if there is a distinct semifinalist round (see schedule). Please read the official guidelines for your competitions very carefully
- Flight (MS): All teams should come to the conference with a pre-built plane, as described in the Competitive Event Guide. The event will not include building a plane on-site.
- Unless otherwise specified, each competition will have 5 semifinalist at the State Conference.
- Dragster (MS): 8 semifinalist
- Junior Solar Sprint (MS): 8 semifinalist
- Tech Bowl (MS): 6 semifinalist
- Tech Design (MS): The design problem will be emailed to advisors on Monday, March 13. The students will turn in their designs at the time and place indicated on the schedule on the middle school conference day, March 14th.
3. High School:
- SOME competitions have tiered judging, others do not. For competitions with tiered judging, the participants may or may not be notified about their progress through the preliminary tiers. It depends on the competition. Semifinalists will be notified, if there is a distinct semifinalist round (see schedule). Please read the official guidelines for your competitions very carefully
- Structural Design and Engineering (HS): All teams should come to the conference with a pre-built structure, as described in the Competitive Event Guide. The event will not include building a structure on-site. It will not be necessary to bring a toolbox to the competition..
- Unless otherwise specified, tiered competitions will have a maximum of 10 entries progress through the preliminary tiers and a maximum of 5 semifinalists.
- Dragster Design (HS): All track-safe cars will participate in the qualifying races. The top 8 will then progress to Tier 2 and the semifinalist round.
- Senior Solar Sprint (HS): 8 semifinalists
- Technology Bowl (HS): 6 semifinalists
